Delicious Chicken Shawarma

Chicken is an excellent source of protein. On average a 3-ounce cooked chicken thigh, contains about 21 grams of protein.

Marinate the chicken thighs for at least an hour, for full robust flovor. Serve cooked chicken with a complex carbohydrate (whole grains) such as brown rice, quinoa, whole wheat bread. These carbs provide a steady release of energy and are beneficial for maintaining blood sugar levels. You know, that beautiful even, steady energy. Or serve with your favorite salad.

Ingredients

2 lemons squeezed

1/2 cup of avocado oil or a quality olive oil

3 minced garlic gloves

2 tsp of black pepper

2 tsp of cumin

2 tsp of parpika

1/2 tsp of tumeric

red pepper flakes to taste

6 chicken thighs

Cook

Preheat oven to 425F

TIP - it’s best to marinate the chicken in a zip lock bag for 30 minutes minimum. You can marinate overnight. The longer the better.

Place chicken with marinade into the oven. Cook for 30 minutes or until cooked.
